Sister Patrocinio, at that time known as Sister Rafaela, had a Vision of Heaven on August 13, 1831.
She was assembled in the church choir with her sisters in the Franciscan convent of Concepcionistas Caballero de Gracia, Madrid, between five and six, at the time of the evening prayer.

Suddenly she plunged into deep ecstasy, and contemplated the Virgin Mary, who was accompanied by the Archangel Michael, holding in her hands a small image representing the Lady with the Child Jesus sitting on her right arm.

A long conversation took then place between the Virgin and the nun. Mother Patrocinio herself tells it in the notes sent to her superiors and her confessor.

THE VISION - 13 AUGUST 1831
The Virgin Mary gave the precious image to Mother Patrocinio, saying:

"...to your application and care I leave the cult and veneration of this sacred image of me with the title of Oblivion, Triumph and Mercy. She will be consoling the world and all afflicted will find, through the mediation of this my image, my comfort. The soul asking me anything will be never denied my love."

The Blessed Virgin told her that the Image came enriched with many blessings and privileges for his faithful devotees, and asked her to take care of its worship, because She left it to the Community.

She also told that, since then, she removed the permit to Satan to torment her, and put the dragon figure tied to the foot of the sacred image, asking her to chain firmly and place the chain it in the hands of the Holy image, a proving that it was well tied up.
During this admirable vision, the Archangel Michael placed the Sacred Image on the altar of the choir, listening to the heavenly music of angels Sister Juana Maria of the Holy Trinity and two more nuns; but ignoring what was happening, invisible to them, they kept it in the deepest silence.
SISTER PATROCINIO'S RELEASE
On the evening of the day after the first appearance, after the Matins prayer, Sister Patrocinio had another heavenly vision of the Blessed Virgin with the beautiful Image of Oblivion in her most pure hands; and She was told by the Virgin that, with that sacred image, She would bring all mercies of her divine Son, for her to share them on her name to all mortals; assuring that every charity she did to her brothers and sisters would be confirmed by the Heavenly Lady and her divine Son in Heaven.

Mother Maria Isabel, secretary to Mother Patrocinio, wrote tha "after she finished the holy prayer, my revered mother Patrocinio, went to the small garden of the convent, and told her abbess that she had to tell her news of much consolation, as she said she could be quiet and without any fears, as the devil would never hit or scare her again, because the Queen of Angels had held him, just showing the Image they had."

The abbess, mother Pilar, explained that:
"Only me, that suffered so much, can tell what was my joy, rest and happiness on hearing so desired news. I cannot explain the joy my heart feels."

WHERE IS THE IMAGE?
The abbess and daughter searched the convent for an "image they had." A small cabinet kept the hidden pearl. Seeing her, and it was not easy to find, the daughter howled, full of joy: "This, this is". However, the abbes had never seen that image in their house.

For this reason, she called in all the other nuns, to be reassured and make more inquiries: no one knew. Faced with this embarrassing situation, the abbess commanded Sister Patrocinio for obedience to explain "what that meant." With great humility and not less reserve, the young nun confessed what had happened in the visions of the Virgin.

On the 15th, the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, near midmorning, the father decided to return to the convent to investigate "the image". He went to the abbess office in the closure area, to continue his investigation. Suddenly, "the image went to stand next to sister Patrocinio" with great surprise of all three people present, i.e the Father Supervisor, the Mother Abbess and sister Patrocinio. The Community was then called in, and all nuns became witnesses of the "new appearance" of this unique image and "thankfully prayed with joy ".
The years between 1831 and 1891, the image was traveling with mother Patrocinio, as she suffered banishment and prosecution that lasted more than twenty years, or was guarded for her at the retreat of the Convent. Finally, in 1891 arranged a beautiful little room, fringed with clouds and angels, a lovely shelter in the Convent of the Madres Concepcionistas Franciscanas in Guadalajara, Spain, where still today can be revered by their devotees.
